Bugzilla
https://www.bugzilla.org/
Pros:
- The Bugzilla software is under constant development and tests by the Mozilla Foundation.
- Is downloadable on Windows, Mac, and Linux for free, open source.
- On reviews.finacesonline.com they said, “Features that make Bugzilla a standout among its competition include a very powerful Advanced search tool, email notifications, time tracking, reporting and charting, and a request system to mention a few.” There’s quite a few things this site has said good about Bugzilla.
- According to the same site, Bugzilla has 97% satisfaction.
Cons:
- People have complained that non-Linux/UNIX administrators find it hard to install and run the software. But when they did get it running it worked normally.
- Difficult to configure and use when you are new to it.
Jira Software
Pros:
- It has a notification system that you can customize, like for which team member do you want to send this type of issue? Or which person to notify if something new comes up or changes?
- You can assign and prioritize bug reports. And create a work flow of what bugs need to get fixed first and what new features to work on.
Cons:
- One person said that, it was too configurable. There are so many options and things you can customize that it took a while for the team to get use to it.
Raygun
Pros:
- Simple and easy configuration.
- Show exactly where the bug is and what class it is. Information and tracking data. And groups them which the reviewer said makes it easy to solve multiple issues at once.
- Has good filters for errors.
- Features to notify the affected users, and logically grouping errors to safe time.
Cons:
- Reports of it not showing all errors/bugs.
- It isn’t useful if you are experiencing more than 100 bugs or errors. Kind of like it overflows, and will stop tracking.
- While grouping the errors, it will repeat them multiple times.
