Two months ago I completed my fifth work party with the WTA. In this work party, we provided routine maintenance work for the Longmire trail, such as clearing and redoing drains, removing or covering roots or rocks that could be a tripping hazard, and clearing vegetation in the path of hikers. We also completed the Eagle Peak step project near Mt Rainier by carrying buckets of gravel to fill in the wooden stair steps. This is a memorable day because I earned my personal hard hat for working in five work parties.
