In 2019 I participated in a Washington Trail Association work party at Priest Point Park. We started by leveling the ground before putting the “U” shape wood frames down. At the ends of the frame facing the hill were pre-drilled holes that we put rebar through to hold the step in place. Lastly, we filled the frame with gravel. We worked on this for a day and a half. That other half we spend doing maintenance on parts of the trail system. It was quite satisfying to remember that I hand a hand in building it each time I visited the trail.
