For about a year I was a member of the Civil Air Patrol as a teen cadet. I started because I wanted to get a taste of the military environment, learn about aircraft and drill, and explore the possibility of becoming an Air Force pilot. Now, I stopped because I was getting sick of the hierarchy system put in place by rank and “chain of command.” Or in plain words, how an incompetent person who is a rank higher can abuse their power. If I was in the real military fighting an enemy, I could handle it, but I don’t feel like taking it for no reason. Plus, I decided to pursue Civil Engineering over becoming a pilot.
But during my year at CAP, I had a chance to fly in a Cessna. It will be a memory I will never forget, here are a few of my favorite pictures. (From left to right, Aberdeen Navy Shipyard, Olympia Capital, Olympia Capital Lake).
