In the summer of 2019, my church held a work party to build a covered porch for an elderly couple. We completed it in one day, excluding only the roofing. At first, there was an attempt to include everyone, since it was a sort of church party at the same time, but soon only a few were working. Due only to the fact that people only planned for one day and it needed to be done in that time, not a lot of time was free to teach people. It was the first porch I’ve worked on and the various builders brought different techniques and ideas; a fun and educational experience.
