This military sci-fi series is among my favorites. I read the War Dogs Trilogy about four years ago during my freshman year of high school. Based on my previous readings, it is an original idea, which is refreshing. The books really delve into the main character’s thoughts and make the main character equally as important as the alien threat plot.
What makes this series so fantastic, is that it isn’t predictable. As the main character doesn’t really know what is going on, neither do you. But, when you think you know what is really going on, you find out something which changes everything. Normally, I like to do a little summary, but this one shouldn’t be spoiled. Read it!
For those you care, it does end happily. While it is by no means a romance book, there is a romance present between the main character and another soldier. It is more prevalent towards the end.
