This author’s writing style is very vivid. A show-not-tell writing that is just right to be immersive. Sometimes it seems authors will go into exhaustive descriptions of people and places and it gets boring. Lindsey Miller, though, did a very good job of describing in a way where most of the description comes from your own mind, she just gives the most important parts. This writing style coupled with the main character’s thoughts and feelings toward people made a very good book. The story/plot is new to me and progressed unexpectedly in many places.
The book does end well. It is a world of assassinations and intrigue, alliances and betrayal. Quite different from the norm of writing, but one of the best books I’ve read based on writing style.
