Trafalgar – Alan Schom

This history book I’ve been carrying around for almost 4 years until as I was packing to move to KS, I chose a stack of books to bring with me and read. Partly it is because I have a few boxes of “to read” books, so…

It turned out to be one of those lively history books. The author’s writing flows nicely and has an air of fascination and activity in the subject. Trafalgar covered the events, politics, people, strategy, and nations that lead up to the battle of Trafalgar that was fought between Napoleon and the British.

One of the joys of the book is the small details and insights the author mentions about people, their habits, speech, build, etc. And in a couple of places were included pictures of important individuals, places, and ships of the line.
