It turned out to be one of those lively history books. The author’s writing flows nicely and has an air of fascination and activity in the subject. Trafalgar covered the events, politics, people, strategy, and nations that lead up to the battle of Trafalgar that was fought between Napoleon and the British.
One of the joys of the book is the small details and insights the author mentions about people, their habits, speech, build, etc. And in a couple of places were included pictures of important individuals, places, and ships of the line.
You omitted Nelson, a colorful figure of history! But not very admirable like most of those characters. I just brushed up with the seedy gossip version…
