I found this book exploring the Asian books section, it is an autobiographical diary that was translated to English by Edward Seidensticker. It was written by a Noblewoman of Japan during the Heian dynasty, and recounts primarily her marriage, or really her lack of interaction with her husband. The book sheds a lot of light on what that time period was like, and was the primary point of interest for me. It wasn’t a page turner, but it was short and easy to read through.
